Domestic Short Hair / Extra-Toes Cat (Hemingway Polydactyl) (short coat) : : Male (neutered) : : Young : : Medium
Tommy was in a feral colony that we TNR’d. He is a polydactyl which means he has extra toes. But 2 of his toes were growing under his front paws which was causing the nail to grow into his foot pads. Very painful for Tommy so we kept him instead of returning him and got him the surgery he needed to remove the 2 toes. He still has extra toes that are like thumbs. He has recovered and is becoming more friendly all the time. He is still a bit jumpy to loud noises. He will come closer and allow for petting sessions and belly rubs . He has a ways to go but with the right family Tommy will be a very good companion. He gets along very well with other cats, not sure about dogs but with time, I believe he would be ok with a gentle older dog. He purrs all the time and likes to play with toys. He will need plenty of time to adjust to a new home.
